Yours truly bought a brand new Ipod today.Reached home early in the morning after a bone jerking 7 hour journey.Kuchu (my bro) came to pick me up from the station.Got freshened up and started with the pookalam. Then I had a quick breakfast( delicious dosas straight from mother’s kitchen) and headed out straight to get my baby.Bought a moto yuva along with it as a gift to mom.By the way it was my parents wedding anniversary.Mom dad..thanks for being the way you are..keep rocking…
Downloaded ITunes to discover the most outrageous piece of software I’ve ever seen. Decided to stick with winamp and its ipod plugin. That’s it for today…Got to go to the temple early morning tomorrow.Wishing every body a peaceful and prosperous onam.Celebrate this festival in its true spirit.

“It often begins with the strange gaze. Then a volley of emotions so tumultuous that you break down. The plot is complete. The self denial begins”
Sometimes I wonder if everything that happens in front of my eyes is an aberration.A ploy to deceive me.Why is it that people can’t be more honest.I find a lot of people treacherous and dishonest towards themselves.Or is it that they are just acting out a grand plan. The more I know someone the more I begin to hate him.Sometimes I wish that the people I see in daily life be strangers.
Be a stranger to me that I dont have to hate you.So that you dont have to lie to me.So that I can learn the master plan fromthe anarchy that percolates. The chaos. The organised chaos…….Strangers are lovely..

I have been a bad bad blogger.I admit.Alas what can I do.The spring has been curtailed.WordPress is blocked in office.
Mean while I’ve been busy over the past few months. After Learning to code in struts frame work I was hoping to get into a project. It never came. Then i started learning .net and got almost everything covered.Lets see how things will turn out.
In fact It will be good to have multiple skill sets. Recently one of the senior management guy was saying; java people with cobol skills may become sought after resources in the future. This is where the industry is moving. When more and more enterprises start to migrate their legacy systems, guess who is going to do it.Obviously the “java guy with cobol knowledge”.This is how somebody who has been sidelined just a couple of months back would suddenly become the “Hero programmer”.
What I was trying to say was it is longer sufficient to have single skill;Although a thorough knowledge in one or two area will definitely help .We must be careful enough to build up a skill set which is flexible enough. This is the only way one can survive these days in the industry when projects are hard to come by and multiple skill sets comes more than handy.

Last month our brothers in the defence industry launched a missile from an underwater launchpad.Reading the news paper I was wondering why India developed it since our country don’t even have a submarine capable of launching such a thing.I was taken aback when Deepu told me that he was working on a submarine project.I had lost touch with him after he moved to Vizag.May be that would help him gain some experience ;even if that meant working in a place where there is so much secrecy that even the walls have ears…!!
Talking about self defence and weapons i got introduced to this new martial arts called Krav Maga…Its an Israeli martial arts which is gaining popularity all over the world.May be karate (or judo for that matter) had its hay days in the small towns of kerala…Krav Maga guys…this is the new cool stuff to try out ….Check out the the link http://www.martial-arts-info.com/119/krav-maga/e

I am back in kerala. After 3 months of hectic training I was posted to Trivandrum DC(Which is nothing but 2 floors in a building called technopark run by the government of kerala).
1st week understanding on trivandrum was this….
* DC People are mostly mallus….unlike in places like bangalore where it is more cosmopolitan….
* I am on the project from day1 …time to roll up the sleeves..
* Food inside technopark is costly and somewhat edible
*Trivandrum seems to be nice place for people with weekend plans..lots of weekend getaways..
*Cinemas are cheap..we can watch films for a meagre 35 bucks…

As part of an assignment in ILI(infosys leadership institute) we were made to
to flock into the Infy library and read a book.We were then asked to write a review on it
Now that is a bit offending for a book lover like me.My reading habits have taken a beating following the 4 years in a college which has very few interesting books in its library. Now a software firm made me read a book and paying me for it.
great.!! I went in and picked up the famous book ‘Gung ho…’
A word about infy library….They have books only on technologies in which they have a say…quite reasonable when compared to my college library
which had books with funky titles but were not at all useful…..
Iam on a roll now. Reading ‘first proof’ which is a collection of short stories,poems…etc.. some fiction and non fiction by Indian writers…
My room mate Jijo has got the book ‘The rise and fall of third reich’.I was interested in Nazi philosophy ever since i read ‘communisathinteyem kurishinteyum nattil’ by augustine.
Mean while..its gettin real hectic here…
I have a big ‘B’ in pf which is programming fundae….
flunked in iqs (infy quality system)….passed in retest today..
and a ‘B+’ in rdbms…
so generic passed quite uneventfully…Now we are having Oracle
Its better if i could handle all the balancing acts….!!
Better for who…me..?…
